Welcome!
Welcome to our website. Webpastor Dot Com Ministries is a small, hands-on, registered, Christian charity impacting in the needy in Australia and overseas.
It had its small beginnings back in 1995 after we (Sue & Rocco Scarcella) visited a children's home (orphanage) at Blimbingsari, in the north-west of the island of Bali, Indonesia. Although the children in Bali were looked after quite well, we thought that, with additional help, things could be even better. Then, in 1997, we built our first website and encouraged friends and tourists to visit the children's homes and join in helping the poor and needy children, their families, and their villages.
As a result, friends and supporters over the years have come on board and we have seen amazing improvements in conditions at the children's homes of the GKPB (Bali Protestant Church) that we continue to support. We regularly visit, taking some supplies and/or funds to acquire local products and support local villages. We have provided supplies for children's homes and their villages: rice, school needs, hygiene items, Bibles, toys, and clothing to the four hundred or so children in their care. We have also brought back arts and crafts on behalf of the children (many made by the kids themselves), to give help them to raise their own support. We have had opportunity to provide needed financial support to provide water pumps to bring water from rivers far away into the mountain villages.
Of course, as funds and opportunity permit, we have also helped villages, children, and families in need in other parts of Indonesia, and the world. Here in Australia, we have helped those doing it tough through the generous help of friends with a heart for the needy. They have been a part of this ministry to deliver goods straight into the hands of those who need them. Some schools in the more economically challenged suburbs of Perth (where our ministry is based) have received a range of gifts, such as hats, scarves and gloves in a carry bag that can be used for library books, backpacks, school packs, aluminium water bottles for each child, and more stationery items such as stocked-up pencil cases, and exercise books.
We love to do the small things, both here and overseas: bring a Barbie doll to a child whose family can never afford one; provide lip gloss for a budding teen, buy a television so a children's home of soccer crazy kids can watch the World Cup, give writing books, toys, toothbrushes, clothing, pencils... little things that mean the world to them. Even if you can't personally go, we or others can, and will take your love to the children. As little as AUD$1 can buy a set of writing books for a child! Yes, even one person can make a difference. Are you willing and able to be part of the solution?
We all know that grand gestures of large organisations tend to get all the attention and a growing number nowadays will subtract their ever-increasing administration costs and overheads from donations. With philanthropists doling out millions of dollars to larger charities, it may be difficult to see how ordinary people like us can affect any positive change. It all can tend to get lost in mega-processes. But through Webpastor_Dot_Com Ministries, we have learnt that ordinary individuals can make big differences in the lives of the needy here in Australia, in Indonesia and in other countries around the world, as opportunities arise! Where possible, we cooperate with other likeminded individuals, Churches, groups and/or charities to ensure help goes where it is needed. We also have opened our new Online Store, offering instantly downloadable collections of General and Christian Short Stories, Reflections and Articles - all of which goes to support the needy here and overseas.
We invite you to consider how you might have an impact on the lives of those who are doing it tough. Please email us via our Contact page if you'd like to explore these possibilities with us! Thank you for visiting our website!
