The Protestant Christian Church in Bali (GKPB)welcomes tourists. Under the supervision of the Dhyana Pura Foundation founded in 1975, the Church started Dhyana Pura Beach Hotel (now Resort). Dhyana Pura Beach Resort was meant as a place of meditation. The mission was to facilitate the encounter between Eastern and Western cultures. Furthermore the hotel was to function as a training centre.

Because tourism was increasing rapidly, young people were were interested to work in the tourist industry and got their training at Dhyana Pura Beach Hotel. In 1987 with more than thousand students, the church looked for another place that could be used as training centre: Campus PPLP Dhyana Pura (Tourism School) and Dhyana Pura STIM - the hotel management school with S1 bachelor’s degree program. Today there are more than 2000 students.

In 2001 Wisma Nangun Kerti the meditation centre of Dhyana Pura Beach Resort, was built in the mountains - a quiet place ideal for small group retreats.

If you do then you are helping to support the many and varied ministries of the Church to the poor and the needy.  In fact, guided tours for sight-seeing can be easily arranged so you may see these ministries first hand (including some of the church orphanages)!
